BR 2-04; Thomas Edison


I read the book ‘Thomas Edison’. I know his name and his amazing talent. However, I didn’t know about his invention’s detail. I could learn his amazing invention’s detail and his life from this book.


He invented 3 famous things and there are ‘the electric light’, ‘sound recording’ and ‘moving picture’. If it wasn’t for Thomas Edison, we might not have these things.


Thomas Edison was the youngest of seven children. He started working when he was 12 years old. I was very surprised it because he started works too young. I think that these things made him genius. He can learn society’s things from when he was young age. After that, he changed jobs and he started working as a telegrapher. In 1863, there were no phones so the telegraph was the only way to send messages a long way.

Edison invented a telegraph machine that sent more than one telegraph at a time. His job helped his work. These times, he became deaf so he couldn’t listen clearly. However, this thing made him wonderful inventor because he could work when something was going on around him.

After that, he invented a photograph with boxes of records, an early telephone. In 1872, he set up his own big laboratory. He invented many things in this laboratory. Moreover, he invented electric light too.

His invention is relation with our life.
