BR 2-18; Antarctic Animals

Today I read the book ‘Antarctic Animals’ and this book introduce about Antarctic animals. We can easy to hit on some Antarctic animals. For example, penguin, white bears and seals. When I think about Antarctic animals, I can’t think only these animals. However, there are more animals in Antarctic and some scientists find out more animals.

Living in the water is very difficult things too me. However, it is very easy to live for sea animals because there is a lot of oxygen in the cold water. In the sea, there are not only big animal but also live very small animals. There is much plankton at the Antarctic sea and there is a food chain. Plankton is eaten by krill and krill is eaten by fish and fish is eaten by whales. This cycle is very important and if the cycle disappears, the Antarctic’s cycle will dead.

We can’t go Antarctic often and almost people can’t go there. So we can’t feel real. I didn’t know about Antarctic but I read the book and I can learn a little. I like penguin and seal so I want to learn more. If I can, I want to go there.

BR 2-17; Aspirin

Today, I read the book ‘Aspirin’ and this book introduce about aspirin. Aspirin is the drug which can leave aches and pains. For example, headaches, when they have a fever. Aspirin made by willow bark and it used long time ago. People used to make a medicine from the bark of t he tree to help people.

Many scientists tried to find out what was the willow bark. In 1828, Johann Buchner found that it had yellow chemical in it. He invented this drug and it can leave aches and pains but after use it, they had stomach pains. Many scientists invented aspirin like Johann Buchner. After that, aspirin was perfect drug.

Now, aspirin made into a tablet and this is great idea. Because it is easy to drink and we can felt a few taste bad. Today, all over the world, one billion aspirin tablets are taken each week. I think that scientist who lived long time ago is very genius and very kind. If they didn’t kind, they didn’t think that tried to help people.

Today, I read the book ‘Cars’ and this book introduce about cars. I was not interested in car but recently, I am very interested in car. Because, I can get car license but I haven’t have car license yet. However, I will get car license in this summer. I want to it soon but I had no time to go.

Cars were first made over 100 years ago. But this year’s cars were very simple. By the 1990s, car companies had started up all over the world. In America, Henry Ford is very famous car maker and he made the way to make a lot of cars quickly and sell them at low cost. Because, a few people bought car.

These days, car is important vehicle for us. Some country’s people don’t use them but it is very important for developed country like Japan, America. We can’t go outside without car. Many people rely on the car.

However, there are many car accidents in Japan recently. In addition, many people dead or injured by car accident. When I was a 5 years old, I had car accident too and I was very afraid then. Many people dead by care accident more than suicide. It is very sad things.

Car security’s level is raising but car accident is rising too. Why is that? I think that many people careless about them driving. Moreover, some people drive their car with drinking alcohol. We have to review our driving manner.

BR 2-15; Death of the dinosaur

Today, I read the book ‘Death of the dinosaur’ and this book introduce about dinosaur and how to end their era. I am very interested in this scholarship so I had a class which we can learn about dinosaur. I learned many things in that class. For example, about flower, dinosaur, fishes and so on. I was very interested in about fishes. Now, there are many fishes in the river but fish couldn’t live in the river a long time ago. However, they were developing with long time and they could live in the river. I think that the force of life is very strong and wonderful thing. Thanks to them, we can live now and we can grow everyday. Why they decided to move river from sea? Because, there are many enemies in the sea and if they live in the sea forever, they couldn’t save there descendant. So, they decided to move river.

Now, there are many dinosaurs’ bones and scientist guess many ideas. One scientist think they died out after a meteorite hit the earth. Other scientist believes that they died out after the earth’s climate changed suddenly because of natural events. I believe that first idea. In many books use the first idea so I think that first idea. Actually, everyone can’t sea that scene so everyone doesn’t know.

And then, all dinosaurs was dead by starve. There is many dinosaurs’ question which we can’t resolve still. I think that more interesting things at dinosaur’s field. I want to concern this field in the future and of course, with English! I try to learn this field more.

BR 2-14; UFO-ordinary or alive?

Today, I read the book ‘UFO’s - ordinary or alive?’ and this book introduce about UFO. UFO means ‘Unidentified Flying Object’. Have you ever seen UFO? Surprisingly, I had! When I was 15 years old, I saw it! I came back my home from school. Suddenly, bright light appeared and disk was flying away. Then, I think that it is the UFO. The disc disappeared soon so I couldn’t see well. However, it was not plain and it was not a bird.

Actuary, there are many people who saw UFO and there are many pictures. I think that earth will invaded by alien in the future. I want to meet alien very much! I think that they are very smart so if we meet them, we will be able to resolve many problems. For example, global warming, economy problem and relationship problem.

Almost people think that alien is green but I think that alien’s color is same with us. And, they have family and friend. In alien world, they needn’t pay money so they line together like our ancestor. We think the people who ride in UFO is alien. On the other hand, we are thought alien by them. If we are able to contact with them, we can get good relationship.

I read the book ‘Caves’ and this book introduce what is the cave and what is caver. Cave is rock hole and some of them are very beautiful and mysterious. Cave made by many accidentally. Cave made by rain, rock and carbon dioxide and they work when being beautiful cave.

And, caver has to go into the cave with many goods. In cave, it place is very dangerous and they have to very careful. First of all, when we go into the cave, we have to have hard hat because it will stop a rock hitting their head. Second, we have to ware boots to be safe from slipping the rock. Third, we have to bring a torch. It help to us in the cave. After that, they can into the cave. I had never entered in cave so I want to have this experience.

I read the book ‘Peacekeepers’ and I had never hear this words before I read this book.
Many peacekeepers are soldiers and they help to people in many cases. For example, when some bridge broke, they try to repair. Moreover, they take care of people’s health some peacekeepers are doctors. I am very surprised that and this thing is very good.

Peacekeeper has to training and it is very hard. However, their job is very dangerous. In addition, they have to leave their homes and families and travel to other country. Then, they can’t know the day which they have to stay some country. I can’t do it like this because I will be missing my families and home. We have to appreciate to them.

BR 2-11: Papua New Guinea

I read the book 'papua New Guinea'. I didn't know about Papua New Guinea before I read this book. I'm very interested in traditional country like Papua New Guinea. I've never learned tropical country so I am happy to read it. I tell you about Papua New Guinea.

Papua New Guinea is in New Guinea island and this island is the secound leargest island in the world. The people who is living in Papua New Guinea and they called Melanesia. Papua New Guiena was named by Spanish explorer. Papua mean Melanesia's curly hair and it is Malay. New Guinea mean Melanesia looks like Guinea who live in Africa so the Spanish explorer named Papua New Guinea. This country is very traditional and we can't survive if we live there. I think that they are very strong.

I'll talk about Papua new Guinea's culture. There are 800 languages in Papua New Guinea and this things is one of the different point. I can't imagine it because Japanese have one language. In addition, they paint on thier body and it express the deep bound with a bird of paradise. I want to try painting on my body.

I am very glad to learn about Papua New Guinea. I want to trip to their and I try to cultural things. Papua New Guinea's nature is very beautiful so I want to diving. In addition, I want to meet the people who live in Papua New Guinea. It looks like very interesting!

BR 2-10: Butler

I read the book 'Butluer School'.
After the graduation. the students have a small party- compleate with champagne. 'I did it' says one very happy student. 'To good health' says Mr. Spencer. Before they came here, these young men and women may have driven buses, worked with computers, or even worked in restaurants od stores. Now, they are butlers and they are part of a very old English tradition. The lvor Spencer for Butler Administrators has done its job well.

I like this sentence because the school graduating is very difficult and this sentence made by graduation student. I didn’t know there are the butler school and butler have to practice many things, for example: how to carry champagne and glasses, how to serve drinks courteously and how to choose wine. There are many things more and they can graduate. Mr. Spencer is the labor the school. He said 'Important things is keeping their hopes up'. I think that too and these things can say everything!

I had never seen butler so I want to meet them. And, I want to ask them why did you enter the school. Moreover, why did you want to be butler? Then, I want to practice a little with them. Do you want to that?

BR 2-09: Diana

When she was young she always loved children, and wanted to help them. So now she worked with many charities to help children in hospital. She worked with one important charity at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, in London. The Queen and Prince Charles often visit hospitals and help charities. They asked people to give money to the hospitals and charities. People listened to them because thy were very famous. Diana was famous and beautiful, too. So a lot of people started to give money to Diana's charities. But when Diana visited children in hospital, she wanted to give them more than money. She wanted to give them love. She sat on the their beds and talked to them. She listened to them. Sometimes she hugged them with her arms. She tried to make them happy. And the photographers took pictures of her with the children.

I like this paragraph and thus sentence express about her. After I read this book, I think that it is very hard princess. Diana wanted to free I think. If I were Diana, I can't relax. I want to volunteer like her.

BR 2-08

I read the book ‘Titanic’ and Titanic mean ship’s name. Moreover, the movie ‘Titanic’ is very famous and I watched the movie many times. This book tells us what the Titanic was and why is it there, nearly 4000 meters under the sea in North Atlantic.

Titanic made in 1912 and fifteen thousand made it in North Ireland. It was the biggest ship in the world and it was one of the fastest ships in the world too. It was 265 meters long, and 28 meters across. It could go at 46 kilometers an hour, so it was one of the fastest ships in the world. Titanic was very beautiful. The rooms for the first class passengers like Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Astor. They liked these rooms which were very expensive. Moreover, the rooms for second class passengers were beautiful too but not third passengers. They were not rich. They were working people from England and Ireland and they wanted to live America They had small rooms, a long way under the first and second class passengers. In the movie, first class passenger is Rose and third class’s passenger is Jack. Titanic is panic and love movie.

On April 10 1912, the Titanic went from Southampton, in England to Cork in Ireland. On the night of 14 April the sea was quiet. The weather was very good but it was very cold. So most of people stayed in their rooms and drinking, talking and listening to music. However, this day was the end of Titanic. At 11.40, Titanic bumped big iceberg and started to inundation. I can't swim so may be, I will panic when I was in the ship. The Titanic had twenty lifeboats. There boats could carry 1178 people but there were 2207 people in the ship. If I were these people who were in the Titanic, I can’t keep my mind.

Now, there is much furniture which was in the Titanic. We can see it and touch it. I want to see these furniture. If I can, I want to sea the ship. We don’t forget this misfortune.

BR 2-07: Cupid the dolphin

I read the book that 'Cupid the Dolphin'. I like the dolphin because they are very cute and intelligent. However, reentry the dolphin is in immediate danger and will usually die.

This book introduced the dolphin name 'Cupid' which helped by human. Moreover, Cupid id stranded dolphin. If the animal is released directly back into the ocean, it will probably die or get stranded again In addition, it will be eaten by predators. However, if the animal says on the beach without human help. It will certainly die as well.

Cupid helped by fisherman who name Christopher Cruse. He didn't know how long Cupid is there. The time period when a dolphin is out of the ocean is extremely important. Keeping the animal wet is essential. So, he decided to move Cupid center pool. In this place, more than 90 percent of the mammals that are rescued by the Network are bottlenose dolphins, like Cupid. I think that we have to release to ocean but a stranded animal, they will die.

Rescuing some animal is important things but we have to think of animal.

I read the book ‘London’. I had ever been to England at once when I was a high school student. Moreover, I went to London for sightseeing. I went to England to home stay and I went to international school. I stayed only 2 weeks but I had very good experience. My home stay’s house is ‘Phips Bridge’ and we tool train when we go to London. We went to London because we had to shopping. We had to make lunch own so we often went and bought something. In London, there are many shops and we could have a large choice everything in London. For example, grocery store, clothes store, souvenir store and so on.

Every year, more than nine million people come from countries all over the world to visit London. When I go in London, there were many kinds of people there and I talked to them. They look at interesting old buildings, many of them hundreds of years old. And then, they sit or walk in the beautiful parks, or have a drink in a pub. There are many pubs in England. Moreover, there is a pub near my international school. I couldn’t go there because I was a minority that time. However, our Japanese teacher went to there at night and them drunk. Then, I went to the park with my friend and ste lunch.

London is a big and beautiful city with lots to see and do. We went to sightseeing a lot. We went to Buckingham palace and this place is the most beautiful I thought. It is at the end of The Mall- a long road that begins at Trafalgar Square. At half past eleven most mornings the soldiers at Buckingham Palace ‘change the guard’. It takes about thirty minutes, and hundred of visitors come to watch. In August and September, we can usually visit some rooms in the palace. I want to visit there too much!

The other place is Oxford Street. Covent Garden, Portobello Road and so on. I went to Oxford and Covent Garden. In Oxford Street, many shops lined and all of them are very
beautiful. Almost shop’s goods are not cheap so I couldn’t buy something. Contrastively, Covent Garden‘s shop goods is cheap so I could buy clothes, shoes and so on. Covent Garden’s shop look like booth and we can easy to enter the shop. Moreover, I watched circus and I shacked hands with one of the circus member.

Moreover, I went to the British Museum. In the British Museum, ‘Sun flower’ draw by Vincent van Gogh so many people come to see it. There are many souvenirs. I bought pen case which is draw ‘Sun flower’.

Next I’ll talk about food. In England, ‘Fish and chips’ is very famous food. I ate it at my home stay’s house but I didn’t like. Moreover, tea is very famous too so I drunk milk tea every morning with breakfast. At night, my host mother took milk tea and chocolate in my room. Milk tea and chocolate is very taste much. I love this combination.

I want to go England and London one more. Next, I’ll go only sightseeing and shopping. You have to go England! And then, you must enjoy London. I recommend to go there.

BR 2-05: Hip-Hop

I read the book 'Hip-Hop'. It was interested in this book because I do dance now. I do Hip-Hop and Jazz Hip-Hop. These dance made me fun and I like dance very much. However, making move is very difficult things.

Hip-Hop started in the Bronx in New-York in the 1970's. The Bronx in an African American neighborhood . Almost people think that Hip-Hop is 'rap music', 'break dance', 'DJing'. I think so too when I think of Hip=Hop. However, Hip-Hop is the one of the culture.
Hip=Hop started with rap music, but soon break dance and graffiti art became important parts od Hip-Hop culture too.

Rap music started playing in Jamaica's DJ in the 1970's. These DJ's like to play parts of a song and then say things in between. The DJ's talked about how hard life could be for African-American people. I think that this thing made their music famous.

When DJ played the breaks in song, people like to get up and dance. Some of dancers started break dance. My friend do break dance. I can't this dance because I can't hold my weight.
Moreover, graffiti art is important part too. Sometimes, there are painting in public space but it is legal place. However, someplace allowed to paint. I love graffiti art and I have graffiti arts clothes.

Today, many Hip-Hop artists in this world. For example, Eminem, Missy Eliot and so on.I love Missy Eliot's song so I use it when I do dance. Hip-Hop is not only music but also one of the cultures. I love Hip-Hop

BR 2-04; Thomas Edison

I read the book ‘Thomas Edison’. I know his name and his amazing talent. However, I didn’t know about his invention’s detail. I could learn his amazing invention’s detail and his life from this book.


He invented 3 famous things and there are ‘the electric light’, ‘sound recording’ and ‘moving picture’. If it wasn’t for Thomas Edison, we might not have these things.


Thomas Edison was the youngest of seven children. He started working when he was 12 years old. I was very surprised it because he started works too young. I think that these things made him genius. He can learn society’s things from when he was young age. After that, he changed jobs and he started working as a telegrapher. In 1863, there were no phones so the telegraph was the only way to send messages a long way.

Edison invented a telegraph machine that sent more than one telegraph at a time. His job helped his work. These times, he became deaf so he couldn’t listen clearly. However, this thing made him wonderful inventor because he could work when something was going on around him.

After that, he invented a photograph with boxes of records, an early telephone. In 1872, he set up his own big laboratory. He invented many things in this laboratory. Moreover, he invented electric light too.

His invention is relation with our life.

BR2-03 ; Living with a volcano

I read the book that 'a Volcano' an this book introduce about volcano.

A volcano is a mountain with a large hole at the top. Active volcanoes can be dangerous because they can erupt, or produce very hot, melted rock. In sicily, there are several towns near a large volcano. I think that, if I were the town's people, I move my house quickly. Why they live near the volcano? In Kyushu, Kagoshima has volcano and sometimes it erupt. Then, town's people have to shelter from the erupting volcano. In this book said, 'Man and volcano have big relation'. First, I didn't understand this mean. However, when I finished read this book, I understand this mean.

Some people live with the money which made by volcano. The volcanic ash makes excellent farmland and many people are also making money from tourist who come to see the eruptions. These things made people living peacefully.

Surprisingly, there are volcanologists and they scientists who have made watching Mount Etna their life's work. i don't want to work these dangerous working!

Now, It's not easy to know what the volcano will do next. Even with all of their studies , scientist still son't always understand what happening deep within the earth. So, we can't catch volcano's condition, if the volcano erupt. However, someday the science progress and we can catch volcano's condition.

I had never seen some volcano so I have chance to go Kagoshima, I want to see the volcano.

I read the book ‘The missing snows of Kilimanjaro’.


Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa. It’s in a hot, tropical area, but it’s so high that it’s always covered in ice and snow. Now, this ice and snow is disappearing. Why is this happening? This is because; air temperature is rising more and more. Moreover, atmosphere becomes dryer so snow melts.


I read this series book first time. This book has some questions and we can make sure this book’s story again, I didn’t know about Mount Kilimanjaro and snow is melting. Moreover, I didn’t know where the Mt. Kilimanjaro is. I could learn these things from this book.


Humans act relation to nature deep so we have to act with thinking about nature.

I read the book that ' The Billy Goats Gruff'.

The three Billy Goats Gruff were leaving their farm to look for food but their friends said 'You can't' nd cried. 'What about the Terrible Troll?' 'That's just an old hen's tale' said the goats. But as they crossed the river, they came face to fang with the Terrible troll himself.


I had read this story in Japanese when I was an elementally school student. This book is famous in Japan so I'm very surprised the there is this book in UN. My favorite scene is Biffer wacked the Terrible Troll into the rushing river. Then, he was pleased by other animals. I love this scene very much because they look very happy.

BR:12 The sorcerer's Apprentice

I read the book 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'. This story's main player is Max who work at the sorcerer's workshop. The workshop's owner is a sorcerer. Max wants to learn magic but the sorcerer never let him do any magic.

One day, the sorcerer have to go into the town and he have to buy something. For example, dragon's egg, goblin's toenails, a tube of pixie's earwax and so on. Max was astonished that the sorcerer had never let him alone in the castle before. Max thought, 'I will be able to have a free time’. However, the sorcerer said 'You have to do with a good scrub but first fill up the water tank ' and he was gone with a puff of purple smoke.

'Well. Don’t just stand there' croaked a little voice. 'You have to work to do'. It was Tabitha, sorcerer's toad. However, Max said 'I have been working all morning and I need a rest first' . Then, Max came up with good plan. Last week, sorcerer had cast a spell on a broomstick had come to life and done everything the sorcerer asked. Max decided to use the same way. Max closed his eyes and thought for a moment and he said the magic words. All at once, the broomstick came to life and it grew two skinny arms and legs. He ordered the broomstick, 'Fetch me some water and be quick about it' after he ordered, he was fast asleep.

He woke up the Tabitha's voice and Tabitha looks very in haste. Max jumped to his feet and look the water tank, water was sloshing over the sides of the tank and broomstick kept carrying some water to the tank. Max said to the broomstick 'Stop it' but broomstick didn't stop it. Max decided to cut in half the broomstick. He grabbed a hatchet and swung it down hard. Max thought 'We did it' but two broomsticks were moving gradually and both of two were growing new arms and legs. Max can't do anything and the water tank just flood.

Then, the sorcerer came back home and he was very surprise. He said some magic words, the two broomsticks stop it and they return just broom. The sorcerer was very angry but in his mind, he thought that Max will be very good sorcerer.The sorcerer's thinking is true and Max grew up the very talented sorcerer but he never approach every broomsticks.
